Preseason All American Team Features Big East Talent

Continuing the distribution of awards to the many who deserve, have added another one to their current accolade shelf. St. John’s star guard and Preseason Big East Player of the Year Shamorie Ponds, Markus Howard of Marquette, and Eric Paschall of Villanova have all received votes in this year’s Preseason Associated Press All American Team.

Ponds finished 10th in the voting for the six player team that included the likes of North Carolina’s Luke Maya, Duke’s R.J. Barrett, Dedric Lawson of the Kansas Jayhawks, Ethan Happ of Wisconsin, Carsen Edwards of Purdue and finally, Nevada’s Caleb Martin.

Howard received five votes, and Paschall received a single vote. No Big East player received more votes than the Brooklyn native in Ponds this season.
